SPOT Test Portal(STP) has been updated with for the release of Interact's SPOT SIP Engine(SPOT) product. This update includes CCXML/VoiceXML example applications using full conformance to their respective specifications. The STP user interface has been updated to reflect the new architecture of SPOT.

What is SPOT Test Portal?
SPOT Test Portal is a free, no-risk service for prospective users to try out CCXML/VoiceXML applications on a SPOT SIP Engine platform. Just set up the free account so you can have your own sandbox(file area and SIP URL), then you will be able to use the existing test applications to get a feel for SPOT. After that, you can copy or develop your own test applications in your personal file area on STP, or just point your application at your own HTTP URL to have SPOT pick up the application from your webserver.

SPOT Test Portal features
A personal SIP URL to execute your configured application
Browser based development environment

  • XML editor
  • XML file validation
  • file storage area(HTTP accessible)

SPOT SIP Engine call logs made available per call

  • a CCXML log file
  • a VXML log file per dialog

Example CCXML/VoiceXML applications to get you started

  • A basic inbound application
  • A call bridging application
  • A basic conferencing application

What is SPOT SIP Engine?
SPOT SIP Engine(SPOT) is Interact's SIP-based VOIP(V for Voice AND Video) platform. SPOT uses a conformant CCXML and VoiceXML interpreter set to provide call flow managment capabilities. The CCXML/VoiceXML application provides you the ability to create the caller experience and backend system integration you need.

SPOT SIP Engine Features

  • CCXML 1.0 draft conformance
  • VoiceXML 2.1 conformance
  • SIP and a bunch of related RFCs
  • Support for Voice and Video

Mike has updated the portal to support NAT, which means you can call from within a private network that has no session border controller(SBC). Previously you had to either call from a public IP address or be using a sip-aware firewall/SBC in order
for call control and audio to work.
